Home Learning January 11, 2022

Good morning girls and boys!  Today is Tuesday, January 11, 2022.  Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with lots of new memories.  Today we start another round of home learning, I certainly wish I could see you and hear your stories about what you did over the Christmas/New Year break.  We will be back together again soon.  Until then, here is today’s work.  Yesterday, packages were given out at the school door, and the following is the instructions for the work.

Language Arts:

1. Start working on Spelling sheets for Unit 10 “Double Consonants”.  Study the words and practice printing them out.  You do not need to complete all the attached spelling sheets today.

2.  Choose a topic from the sheet “Winter Writing Prompts”.  Use the scribbler provided to write a short story (this is longer than a few sentences but shorter than a 2 page story).  After you write this, go back to look for fix ups such as punctuation, upper case letters used correctly and spelling common words correctly.

3.  Read for 15-20 minutes.  This can be a book of your own choice, or working on the book that was sent home.

Math:

1.  Work on the sheet(s) “Fraction Sort”.   Cut the fractions out and glue them to the correct category.

2.  Complete one game of “Multiplication Tic Tac Toe”.

3.  Go to the website SplashLearn.  Spend 20 minutes working on  assignments.  If you complete the assignments make your own choice for activities.

Extra:

Use any of the following websites:

Today will be a very cold day, so you may not get to play outside.  Instead, here are some ideas: play a board game or a card game with someone, create a dance to your favourite song and perform, help with laundry, and/or help make lunch or supper.

Have a great day, Grade 4! As always, if you have any questions, have a grownup send me an email and I’ll do my best to help!

**Remember to bring in any work that you have completed at home.
