Home Learning January 12

Posted: January 12, 2022

Good morning girls and boys!  Today is Wednesday, January 12, 2022.  I hope everyone had a good first day of learning from home.  Here are today’s lessons:

Language Arts:

1. Start working on Spelling sheets for Unit 10 “Double Consonants”.  Study the words and complete a sheet (you choose) that is attached to them.

2.  Choose a topic from the sheet “Winter Writing Prompts”.  Use the scribbler provided to write a short story (this is longer than a few sentences but shorter than a 2 page story).  After you write this, go back to look for fix ups such as punctuation, upper case letters used correctly and spelling common words correctly.

3.  Read for 15-20 minutes.  This can be a book of your own choice, or working on the book that was sent home.

4.  Complete the sheet in your package titled “Remembering the Year 2021”.

Math:

1.  Work on the sheets “Parts of a Whole” and “Multiply by 6s”.

2.  Work on the following problem.  Show your work and write a sentence in the scribbler provided.

On Monday, Sandy worked 6 hours at her job.  She earns $7 for each hour.  If she works the same number of hours on Tuesday, how much money will Sandy have earned for the two days?

3.  Complete any unfinished assignments on SplashLearn.  If all assignments are complete, work on activities of your choice from the website.

Again, today will be a very cold day, so you may not get to play outside.  Instead, here are some ideas: play a board game or a card game with someone, create a dance to your favourite song and perform, help with laundry, and/or help make lunch or supper.

*Don’t forget to have a look at home learning for Phys.Ed., Music, and even Guidance.  There are some great activities available.

Have a great day, Grade 4! As always, if you have any questions, have a grownup send me an email and I’ll do my best to help!

**Remember to bring in any work that you have completed at home.
