Speaking and listening

Have an adult read to me each day or play an online book and tell the adult about the book.

3. I know how to read.  I can look at the picture and try to sounds out little words to help me with the words I don’t know. Raz-Kids is the main websites we will be using. I assigned each student three books for the week.

Writing

Write about your Easter weekend with your family for 10 minutes. Everyday work on your story for ten minutes adding more details to your picture and your words. On Friday read your story to the adults in your house and talk about the picture.

I can draw a picture.

I can label my picture.

I can write a sentence by myself. (Don’t forget your finger space between your words)

I can try to sound out words I don’t know how to spell and I can use my sight words.

I can read my story and talk about my picture to an adult.

Math

Choose from some of the following suggestions:

Counting activities:

Practice counting forward to 20 starting at 1, 7, and 15. Practice counting backward from 10 to 1 and from 5 to 1. Count and record how many cars drive by your house in 2 minutes. You can try this activity with 5 min., 10 min. etc. Count how many times you can jump up and down or hop on 1 foot, in 1 minute.

On my web links play my “what makes 1?” And “what makes 2 song?”

Work on sorting and patterns

Some ideas: Sort socks. Tell someone your sorting rule. (color, pattern, size, etc.) Sort kitchen utensils into groups that are alike. Write letters, numbers and sight words on pieces of paper and have your child sort them into piles of letters, numbers, and words. Have students sort lego, or candy into different color piles. Make a pattern using kitchen utensils, socks or other objects in your home. Remember to let an adult know the core (the part that repeats) of your pattern.

I sighed the students up for a math website called splash learn.  Students can work on the kindergarten level or if they want a challenge they could try the grade one level.

Step 1: Go to https://www.splasllearn.com/login (there is also an app available)

Step 2: Where are you playing Spash learn? Select Class

Step 3: Enter class code: UQHBGL

Step 3: your child finds his or her username on the class chart.

Step 4: your child enter his or her password. See student passwords below or under document tab.
