Home Learning November 4th
I hope learning from home is going well. I am really looking forward to getting back to my classroom and seeing all those sweet little faces again!
Please do not feel that you must do everything that has been suggested. These are just some ideas that may help you with home learning. I really appreciate every effort!
Please email me at melanie.lamkey@nbed.nb.ca if you have any questions.
Literacy
Reading
Have your child read the pictures from their favorite book they have at home (they have been taught how to read the pictures during read to self at school). Have them look through the words to see if they can spot any of their sight words.
Have them listen to a story on https://www.storylineonline.net
Letters
Play ABC Phonics Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq3yfQnllfQ
Continue working on letter Ll (we usually spend 2 days on each letter)

If they did not finish the sheet yesterday, have students practice printing letter Ll on the L sheet that I sent home in the home learning package (please send the completed sheet back to school with your child when we return to school).
Draw a picture of something that starts with Ll.
Review letters by playing a couple squiggle park games in the ABC world.

Writing
Draw a picture of your favorite toy. Add a label to your picture or a simple sentence using your sight words. Try to identify the beginning sounds in your words. If that is easy for your child, they can also try to figure out the ending sound.
If they have not completed the making words sheet that was sent home, they can also complete that sheet. If you do not have glue, they can just print the letter inside the box.

Sight words
Practice the words in their word wallet. If they have difficulty with a particular word, go to youtube and Jan Richardson and Jack Hartmann have a song for each word.
