Here are some activities you can do at home,  pick a few activities each night. They should read their little books, trace letters, and work on sight words each night. Note: Not all students are working on sight words.

 

Speaking and listening 

Read to your child each day or play an online book and talk about the book. 

Work on learning letter Ii, Jj, kk. Ll this week. Practice printing this weeks letters.

Letter Tracing ABC book: Each night have your child say the name of each letter and trace it in their ABC book.  Make sure they are watching the arrows and starting at the dot.  When they know most of the names of the letter’s students can start saying the letter name and sound both before they trace the letter. 

 

Reading

Your child has two paper books ( I Can Move and We Like School). Make sure they are pointing to each word and looking at the picture for the bigger word.

 

Sight Words

Writing  

Practice printing their name.  Make sure they are holding the pencil or crayon the right way.  The first letter of their name should be a capital letter and the rest of their name is all lower-case letters.  Example: Bob 

Math  - Some activites you can work on at home:

Counting forwards and backwards to 10

Recognizing the numbers 1 to 10

Before and After: what comes before 2? and what comes after 5? for example

work on recognizing a group with out counting: roll a dot die and have your child tell you the amount without counting

More and Fewer: roll two dice and have your child tell you which one is more and which one is fewer

I hope you had a great weekend.  I spent the weekend working on my garden. We are going to change up the home learning for the next few weeks.  Students can choose one activity a day from the Reading, Writing and Math choice board.  The choice boards are below. You might spend a couple days working on your writing choice.  Please continue to work on learning new sight words, Raz-Kids reading, and Splash learn math.
