Hello all! Wow, what a fabulous windy weekend that was! Springtime is sure here, which means we hope you are spending lots of time outdoors. Mrs. Richardson was still working on her hen house and Mrs. Keenan was still doing her yardwork while her husband and kids were working on their treehouse! J

DON’T FORGET to be reading books on the side, apart from your assigned books online.

We will be uploading a new comprehension story to read, and answer the questions to, as well. This week’s title is “Fish.”

 

Writing

 

Create an acrostic poem to give to someone special for Mothers’ Day.

To create an acrostic poem, follow these five easy steps:

1.   1. Decide what to write about.

2.    

3.   2. Write your word down vertically. MOTHER/GRAMMY/NANA/KOOKUM/ MERE/STEP MOM/AUNTIE or maybe just someone’s name.

4.    

5.   3.Brainstorm words or phrases that describe the person you choose.

6.    

7.   4.Place your brainstormed words or phrases on the lines that begin with the same letters.

8.    

9.  5.Fill in the rest of the lines to create a poem. It does not have to rhyme!

Math

 

Study your math facts.

We are going to take a break from the Math site IKNOWIT.COM to let everyone catch up on their assignments. We are going to switch gears and focus on a new concept: two digit by two digit multiplication. Below you find a link to a video.

Science

Grade 4: Please choose an animal that you are interested in and either create its’ habitat (using materials around the house) or draw a picture of it. Be creative. Share some interesting facts about the particular animal you chose.

Grade 5: Some physical changes are reversible and some are not. Please make a list of items for each. (Reversible physical changes and non-reversible physical changes.

French

 

Students are now signed up for a French Reading site called Je Lis. Each student has an individual login name and password for each student.
