Peace is when you smile at someone and make the world a tiny bit brighter

Peace is when you hear a baby laugh, or give a hug to the hurt

~ Excerpt from a poem by 10 year old Amaya M from Winnipeg

Thursday, November 11 is Remembrance Day. We take this week in music class to talk about the importance of this day. To better prepare our students for the Remembrance Day program we listen and discuss what music is traditionally played. This is all  done in advance so our students are better prepared for the importance of this day.  (O Cananda, Last Post, Reveille, God Save the Queen, choir selections etc)

In Home Learning you will see a variety of entries that your child may view to better prepare for this day.

The 2021 KSE Remembrance Day Slide Show will soon be on our home page.

We can make a difference in making our world a better place, by the actions and choices we make :o)

We are collecting photos of family members who served or who are currently serving in the military. There will be a slideshow presentation as part of our "Virtual" Remembrance Day Program.  This slide show will be uploaded to our KSE website.

NOTE - If an older sibling has submitted a photo in the past, they will not need to resubmit. Please update family photo if they have a brother or sister that now attends KSE. This photo will also be included on the slide.

Please e mail the photo of the veteran and a photo of your child to,

emily.comeau@nbed.nb.ca

Please send along the following info that will be needed for slide.

A special THANK YOU goes out to all the moms, dads, grammies, grampies, aunts, uncles....to all the important people in our lives who are supporters of the King Street Elementary Music Program!!  It has been a joy putting a program together for all of you. Thank you for having such great kids to teach!!  I loving watching our students faces as they come on stage with the gym FULL of special people there to see justthem.  Butterfly moments that are replaced with a job to do ...perform! Grandparents Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas concert, Music Festival and Blacklight shows are a few of the BIG moments that our students will not forget! Thank you for being in the audience with your encouraging applause!  Our students have been asked to perform at various times through out the city. Thank you for taking your child here and there and letting them bring the joy of music to others. Many memories have been made with many more to come!

A special thanks goes out to my grade 5 parents! It has been a delight to teach your child over the years. The students and I know how much practice it took to make those elementary memories!!  You will look back at these moments and SMILE!

I tell my students often that I have the best job in the school.

Guess what????

I DO!!!

Have a great summer!

King Street School is a strong supporter of the Miramichi Regional Music Festival. My music students know how busy we are at this time of year preparing....classroom singing, primary and senior choirs, instrumental entries and solo speech entries BUSY TIMES!  I am sending out a friendly challenge to those students who were preparing for their Solo Speech Arts to record their entry and upload it to our school Face Book Page.

Students do not need to have their poem memorized. Family members could be great teleprompters.  Students are encouraged to use props, dress in character and most importantly have fun and send a smile to others. Please remember, this is strictly voluntary. For those of you who may be interested, this will be a perfect opportunity to showcase your artistic talent to all of us at King Street!.

PLEASE SEND YOUR RECORDED SOLO SPEECH TO MRS. RICHARDSON'S PRIVATE FACEBOOK MESSENGER OR TO HER EMAIL AND SHE WILL UPLOAD YOUR AWESOME TALENTS TO OUR SCHOOL FACE BOOK SITE!

Take care everyone!
