Hand Clapping Games

Rhythm keeps a song moving along, it gives motion. It can also help make a song feel slower or faster than it's actual pulse.  Hand clapping games are a great way of internilizing the beat and most important having fun fun with a friend! The grade 3 classes will be familiar with some of these clapping games.  Lots of fun to do! Hey, moms and dads your child may need a partner! :o)

Beginning Ukulele Lessons

One problem  of having your Ukulele at home is tuning it. No worries! The attached link contains easy beginner songs and a "KEY OF C" Ukulele Tuner.  This ukulele unit is taken from MUSICPLAY ONLINE. This online program is free to our students until August. We use this site in class and some of my grade 5 students will be familar with the introductory uke video. PLease explore this page and what it has to offer.  My suggestion for this week is to continue to work on the same three chords. C  F  G7 Try playing Row Row Your Boat using the 2 chords  C and G7

King Street School is a strong supporter of the Miramichi Regional Music Festival. My music students know how busy we are at this time of year preparing....classroom singing, primary and senior choirs, instrumental entries and solo speech entries BUSY TIMES!  I am sending out a friendly challenge to those students who were preparing for their Solo Speech Arts to record their entry and upload it to our school Face Book Page.

Students do not need to have their poem memorized. Family members could be great teleprompters.  Students are encouraged to use props, dress in character and most importantly have fun and send a smile to others. Please remember, this is strictly voluntary. For those of you who may be interested, this will be a perfect opportunity to showcase your artistic talent to all of us at King Street!.

PLEASE SEND YOUR RECORDED SOLO SPEECH TO MRS. RICHARDSON'S PRIVATE FACEBOOK MESSENGER OR TO HER EMAIL AND SHE WILL UPLOAD YOUR AWESOME TALENTS TO OUR SCHOOL FACE BOOK SITE!

Take care everyone!
