Hi folks!

If you'd like to help in Math class have your child count by 5's, 10's, 25's and 100's. We are responsible for numbers up to 1000. Include movement to keep it engaging - jumping jacks, hops, sit ups, ballerina twirls, touch toes etc as they skip count.

Numbers don't need to be "traditional" 5, 10, 15 numbers either.

Ex: 12 17 22 27 32 37

Ex. 542 642 742 842

Hi folks! A note was sent home yesterday (Sept 30th) on reading levels in both French and English. Students are continuously amazing me at how fast they're progressing. It's AWESOME! New sight words will be sent home accordingly. If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to shout out.

Homework shouldn't be a negative experience. Keep it light and short. :) Here is what we are looking for in our class:

  • Guided Reading Books: please read their book ONCE each night M-Th. Don't forget to bring it back! New French books are given on Monday and new English books are given on Thursdays.
  • Review Sight words: use playdough, funny voice apps, make them read them to their grandparent over the phone/facetime, have them correct you. Read them all once a week for review or daily if struggling.
  • Math game: A new game each week!
  • Work to finish: at times students may have work to finish up from class (Math questions, pages to colour etc.). These are only sent home after ample time is given in class to have them completed.

Silent X is a bit trickier because it isn't always so silent. Here is the other half of the class with their song about the letter/sound X.
