We have made it to week 7 of Home Learning!  I have noticed some of you have logged into the websites provided, well done!  Hopefully if you haven’t had a chance to log on to Raz Kids or IKnowIt lately or at all, you will this week.  Try to make it a personal goal to log on to the websites if you are able to!  I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather.  Gracie and I have been taking Mollie to the Cove to walk for a change instead of around our neighbourhood.  If you can go it’s a great spot to explore all kinds of habitats and to get a nice 2km walk.  Have a great week, boys and girls!

Read the message below from Mrs. Richardson about an exciting contest!! (please note, she has referred to me as "magestic"...wouldn't you agree!)

CONTEST TIME BOYS AND GIRLS!!

We would like to see how creative you can be! We would like to see you draw a picture, with a slogan, for our Group Photo for our Facebook Page. We will choose a new one each week. Each entry will be due by Friday night!! The lovely Mrs. Keenan, the majestic Mrs. Hosford and I, the delightful Mme Richardson, will be your judges!

Here are the criteria:

1.    This week's theme is King Street Elementary.

2.    Make it creative and colourful.

3.    Come up with a slogan (examples to follow).

4.    It has to be drawn and coloured by hand.

5.    Fold your paper in half and only draw on half of it (it will fit better on the page).

A Slogan is a sentence that will draw attention to your product (in this case, your picture). You see slogans everyday! MacDonald's --"I'm lovin' it!" M&M: Melts in your mouth, not in your hands!" Nike: "Just do it!" Bounty: "The quicker picker upper!"

Our home learning a few weeks ago asked to look for a habitat.  Carter discovered a bird's nest, and now it has eggs!

Good Morning Grade 4!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and treated the special women in your lives well for Mother’s Day!  I had a few acrostic poems sent to me that I will be posting in the gallery. I was also so happy I was able to see a few of you at KSE on pick-up day, I miss you all so much.  I see many of you have been putting in lots of time on the websites for Reading and Math.  This is wonderful, I’m proud of you all for this.  This week you will learn about comparing and ordering and fractions and will be using the Brainpop websites to learn about Food Webs and Food Chains.  Have a wonderful week, and be sure to get lots of fresh air…it looks like it will be a lovely week for weather.

Hello Grade 4!  I hope everyone has been enjoying the nice weather and getting outside to play and move.  My dog Mollie has loved all the walks we have been able to take!  Gracie and I have been playing outside and practicing some running to see how far we can go.  I have posted this week’s home learning options.  Have a peek and give them a try!  Send me a picture of the acrostic poem you make for Mother’s Day and I will your work on my page.  Have a great week!

Week 3 Home Learning challenged students to do and act of kindness.  Robert helped with chores and Carter made a delivery to a local food pantry.  He challenges others to also make a donation.
