Good morning boys and girls! Today is Tuesday, November 9. Here are your home learning lessons for today.

Language Arts:

I have set up our class on the website Epic (click the link below). You can sign in as a student and the class code is bmd8858 . Find your name and there is an assignment waiting for you!  If you are not able to do this, continue to read and log for 15-20 minutes.

I have also attached a choice board for reading. You can decide what activity you would like to do. 

Yesterday you started working on a draft copy of an acrostic poem for Remembrance Day. If you have completed this, make it into a good copy. You can choose to type it or use a new sheet of paper and do you best printing.

In Science we have been learning about rock and minerals. Click on the link to watch a video about Fossils. Then answer the following questions:

Last week you started brainstorming some words related to Remembrance Day. This week you will write an acrostic poem for the word “Remembrance”. Click the link to watch a video about how to write an acrostic poem. You can start a draft copy of your poem (remember not all poems rhyme, this poem doesn’t need to rhyme).

Good morning boys and girls, it’s Friday, November 5, 2021.  It’s day 5 of home learning, and I hope your week went well!

Language Arts:

Everyday read for 15-20 minutes.  Log your books and time spent reading.  Tell someone about your book.  Who is the main character, setting, what has happened, what are your predictions.

Practice Spelling List from last week.  If you have some sidewalk chalk, write them outside on pavement.

Try the following problems.  Show your work (equation, draw a pic, etc.) and write a sentence to complete. 

1.  Mary baked a dozen cookies.  She and her sister will share the cookies equally.  How many cookies will each sister get?

2.  Janet has 9 dolls.  Each doll has 3 dresses.  How many doll dresses does Janet have altogether?

 

Cross Curricular:

Use the YouTube channel Art for Kids Hub and choose a drawing to follow.  Remember, you can always press pause through the video to stay caught up!

Today is Thursday, November 4th, and it is day 4 of home learning.  Yesterday was another nice day I hope you were able to enjoy some time outside getting fresh air. 

Language Arts:

Everyday read for 15-20 minutes.  Log your books and time spent reading. 

Practice Spelling List from last week.  Write a short story using as many words from your list as you can.  Remember to stay on topic!

Attached is a new Toothy game.  Give it a try!  They are fun interactive games. 

Try the following problems.  Show your work (equation, draw a pic, etc.) and write a sentence to complete. 

1.  Zoe is the 12th person in line for tickets to a popular concert.  There are 138 people in the line altogether.  How many people are behind Zoe?

2.  Solve each equation and use <   >   = to finish the sentences.
