Epic Books- Login Information

Below are the steps to login to Epic Books, for those of you who are looking to access it at home.

Open your web browser and

1. Go to www.getepic.com/students

2. Enter class code: smv1998

3. Select their name

4. There are assigned books for your child to read. In the top right-hand corner, click 'Mailbox' to find these books.

5. Read the books and complete the quiz (if available) to earn points/badges.

IOS/Android

After opening the Epic app:

1. Tap on students

2. Enter class code: smv1998

3. Select their name

4. There are assigned books for your child to read. At the bottom of the screen, click 'Mailbox' to find these books.

5. Read the books and complete the quiz (if available) to earn points/badges.

Home Learning- January 28th, 2022

Good morning Grade 1 Lions,

HAPPY FRIDAY! We will all be back to school on Monday (January. 31st), which means that today is your last day of Home Learning. Myself and Mrs. Schofield can't wait for everyone to be back together in the classroom again!

Today in your Home Learning Packet the literacy activity is called "CVC Read & Match Puzzle", the math activity is called "Find the Missing Numbers", there is NO writing activity today, and you can play "Lightning Race", "Squirmy Wormy", or any of the math games that have been sent home in your Learning Packets over the last few weeks. As always, try and read your levelled books, complete an activity on your January Reading Bingo sheet, and review your sight words.

Please remember on Monday to bring all of your levelled books back to school with you and any work that you completed while you were at home.

Have a FUN day learning and the BEST weekend! It sounds like there is going to be a lot of fresh snow coming for you to play in!

Home Learning- January 27th, 2022

Good morning Grade 1 Lions,

Today is Thursday and it is such a cold day outside! Today in your Home Learning Packet the literacy activity is called "Unscramble to Make a Sentence", the math activity is a subtraction question about Jill at the fair, the writing activity is called "Opinion Writing" (would you rather see a polar bear or a penguin?), and you can play "Lightning Race" or "Squirmy Wormy" for a math game.

As always, remember to try and read your levelled books each day, as well as review your sight words and try to complete an activity on your January Reading Bingo sheet. Please make sure you keep track of your books, so you can return them to school when we are back together in person (hopefully next week!), as these books belong to the school.

Home Learning- January 24th, 2022

Good morning Grade 1 Lions,

Happy Monday! Today is the start of your third week of Home Learning. Hopefully after this week, we will all be back together at school!

In your Home Learning Packet today the literacy activity is called "Unscramble to Make a Sentence", the math activity is called "Tally Up Your Bugs!", the writing activity is called "Weekend News", and there is a new math game called "Lightning Race". There is also a new coloring page if you would like to do that anytime this week for a Soft Start to your day. Please feel free to also follow the Daily Routine to help you organize your day :)

Home Learning Packets- Week 3

This is just a reminder that you can pick up your child's new Home Learning Packet for the additional week of Home Learning that was added (January 24th-January 28th), anytime today between 9am and 3pm. The new packets will be inside the main door of the school (Door A). If you are unable to pick up your child's packet during this time, you can email myself (alanna.hallihan@nbed.nb.ca) or Mrs. Schofield (barbara.schofield@nbed.nb.ca) and we can make alternative arrangements.
