Literacy block:

Writing- This week we would be learning about Remembrance Day. If you picked up a home packet, please work on the Remembrance Day packet. For everyone else, see how many different words you can make from the words Remembrance Day.

After listening to the story, on a piece of paper write about someone who is a Hero to you. What makes them a hero, why are they are hero? **Please bring all work back**

Spelling- Work on unit 6 this week!

Numeracy:

  •          Zorbits/Splashlearn – play for about 20 mins: https://play.zorbitsmath.com/  www.splashlearn.com
  •          In your home packet, work on the following sheets – find 1 less, 1 more, 10 less, 10 more. For students who do not have this sheet, on a piece of paper use these numbers- 38, 21, 55, 29, 62, 32, 49, 36, 79.
  •          Fill in the empty squares – start at 22 count to 29, start at 31 count to 38, start at 49 and count to 56, start at 66 and count to 73. Challenge – start at 89 and count to 120.

** Be sure to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. Look for patterns as you are playing, can you see anything in the clouds, see any animals around.

Good morning boys and girls!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful! Be sure to get out there again today and take in some fresh air! We are thankful for this weather!

Literacy block:

Journal writing- Write about your weekend! What did you do? Who did you see? Make sure to add detail to your writing! Include a detailed drawing to go with your writing. Please, keep your writing pieces, date them, and put them in your homework folder or email me your writing!

Today when you read a book/or listen to a book, I want you to divide a piece of paper into 3 sections. On the paper use the headings Beginning, Middle, End. Write, in complete sentences what happened at the beginning of the book, the middle and at the end of the book. Write down what your favourite part of the book was.

  •          Number of the day today is 35. On a piece of paper, write the number, tell me if it’s odd or even, show it using tally marks, how many tens/ones are in 35, forward/backward counting by 1’s and 10’s starting at 35, what is 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, 10 less, 100 more.
  •          When you are outside today, gather rocks or leaves or sticks and make a repeating AB pattern (rock, stick, rock stick etc.) Can you make a ABBA pattern? (Rock, leaf, leaf, rock, etc.)

Good morning boys and girls!! First, I just want to say thank you to those that have sent pictures or videos, I am enjoying seeing all the great work everyone is doing! I hope we are all back soon, I miss everyone! Again, please reach out if you need anything or having any trouble login into anything!

Journal writing- Call a family member of your choice (with permission) and ask them what their favourite recipe is. What is their favourite thing to cook or bake? Write down their recipe, and maybe you can try cooking or baking it with a family member! Please keep your writing pieces, date them, and put them in your homework folder or email me your writing!

Journal writing- topic: “Would you Rather have a Monkey or a Robot?” Try to write 2+ sentences with reasons why you would rather have a monkey or a robot. Remember our 5-star writing.  Please keep your writing pieces, date them and put them in your homework folder or email me your writing! I would love to see what you would choose!

  •          Count by 10 to 100. Try starting at different numbers (ex: 11, 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71, 81 ,91)
  •          Count backwards from 100 by 10
  •          Practice making 10 : Play Go Fish Make 10 – Use a deck of cards and take out the J, Q, and K. Play Go Fish, but a match is 2 cards that make 10 (ex: 2 and 8, 7 ad 3).

Happy Thursday Morning boys and girls!! It's a wet, rainy morning out there today! 

Reminder to everyone, use the white board provided when I first sent home your home learning packet to do your work on! Use the websites provided as well. Remember to log in to squiggle park, splash learn (math) and EPIC. Each of you were provided with your username and password for Squiggle Park, and I have uploaded information on EPIC and Splash Learn for you to login to. 

If you have books at home, you should be reading each day 15 mins. On a piece of paper you can do journal writing. Tell me about your days at home, or make up your own story! Be Creative!! You can bring those back with you when we return to school and we can share some stories!

Good morning boys and girls. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Weekend! Here is your home learning for the next three days. On your white board practice these spelling words. Remember to listening closely for the short vowel sound .

1. sat  2. sit  3. shut  4. shop  5. set  6. let  7. flat  8. that  9. mop  10. fit  

Don't worry about regular spelling this week, we will start with Unit 3 next week!
