Hello October

Good morning Grade One Families,

It is Day 4 in our home learning packets. Our worksheets today are Unscramble to Make a Sentence, a subtraction question and an opinion writing sheet as well. Would you rather see a polar bear or a penguin?

Here is an example:

I would rather see a penguin because I really like penguins. I think that penguins are funny because of the way they walk. I like that they look like they are wearing a tuxedo. My favourite penguin is called a Marconi penguin. I love their spiky hair. Those are the reasons I would rather see a penguin than a polar bear.

Please continue to read your books in your bag and study your sight words everyday as well. I hope you have a great day!

HellGrade One Families

Today is Thursday January 20th and we are into our 4day of Week2 of our home learning packet!

Today, for home learning you will find the following sheets to complete:  Reading with Color Words, Cookie Addition, and for writing today there is an Opinion Writing sheet. In your writing tell what pet you would like best and write 3 sentences about why you like to have a cat or a dog best. Here is an example:

I would rather have a dog than a cat at my home.

I would choose a dog because I think they are very

friendly. Dogs have more energy to play. It is also

easy to teach dogs tricks and that is fun! I love dogs.

Have you played any of the math games that were in your packet yet? If you do not have dice, simply cut or rip 6 pieces of paper and write numbers 1-6 on them. Mix the papers up and randomly pick a number to play your game.

Please do not forget to read your levelled books every day and review your sight words. How many sight wordsdo you have in your memory bank now?

Take care and I hope you all have a nice day!

Love,

Miss Gallant ♥

Good Morning Grade 1 Lions,

Today is the third day of Home Learning. In the Home Learning Packet, today's literacy activity is called "Ending Sound Match Puzzle", the math activity is called "Shape Sort", the writing activity is called "How to Brush Your Teeth", and the math game is called "Egg Head".

Remember to try and read your levelled books each day, as well as review your sight words and try to complete an activity on your January Reading Bingo sheet. Please make sure you keep track of your books, so you can return them to school when we are back together in person, as these books belong to the school.

Today is not as cold as the last few days, so hopefully you get a chance to go outside and get some fresh air!

Keep up your hard work and have a great day :)

Good Morning Grade 1 Lions,

I hope your first day of Home Learning went well yesterday and that you are well rested for a new day of learning today.

I will be putting levelled reading books in a bag for each student, so if you would like to come and pick up books for your child, you can do so anytime after 1pm today and anytime between 9am and 3pm Thursday and Friday.

In the Home Learning Packet, if you look at the Daily Routine, there will be a worksheet to go along with each part of the Daily Schedule. So each day your child will be completeting 1 literacy page, 1 math page, and 1 writing page (Monday to Thursday). There is only a new math game included on Mondays and Wednesdays, so students can choose one of those two games to play on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Have a great day :)
