Apparently a picture worthy week!  A new Math game called Snap 10, people Math equations, Science scooter experiment, skating and painting.  I guess learning can be fun!  Oh! And who can forget our favourite Grade 9 Bring Your Kid to Work student, Mr. Shawn!

  • Reading log: 15 minutes (M, W &Th - none on Tuesday because it's Halloween Night!)
  • Sign last week's Math Show What you know (being sent home Monday)
  • Sign English Read Aloud Reflection Entry Book Report
  • Please continue saving cardboard, boxes, tubes etc for our Rube Goldberg machine for Science. Building starts next week!

Note about Halloween: The school celebrated last Friday.  Therefore there are to be no treats or costumes this week.

A great day of Halloween Fun (Friday, Oct 27th)!  We had some Halloween themed activities in the morning followed by an afternoon of safety tips, costume parade, treats and dance.  Thank you to all those who helped decorate and to our DJ Dad Drew Hunter!

King Street invaded Dr. Loisier for an amazing afternoon of fun on Thurs, Oct 26th.  Thank you to all the staff and students involved.  The drama productions, STEM activites and Haunted House were incredible!

Reading Level Questions to Ask

Parents always ask, how can I help if I don't know French?  Here is a great site intended for English reading levels but works with French too.  After students have read for 10 minutes, discuss what they've read.  There is a list of questions to ask per reading level.

  • Reading log: 15 minutes (M-Th)
  • Sign last week's Math Show What you know (being sent home Monday)
  • Sign French Writing Example (being sent home throughout M-Th)
  • Cafeteria Spooky Lunch to be ordered before Wednesday - $6.50
  • Please start saving cardboard, boxes, tubes etc for our Rube Goldberg machine for Science

Note about Halloween: Costumes are to be brought to school Friday (not worn).  Students will put them on after lunch for our Halloween celebrations.  You are welcome to bring treats on Friday.  We will have our sock hop on Friday afternoon as well.

We started our Science Unit on Simple Machines.  Students are loving the experiments.  Friction is a hit!  Sorry for the tinge of red - it's the curtains.
