Here's a pretty neat site with tons of links to Math games. It covers more than we've seen in class (and some subjects we won't cover this year in any Grade 5 class in NB). Super fun for students.

Diaper Derby
Students seem to love practicing their multiplication facts with Diaper Derby! Currently we are concentrating on x2 and x3. What's great about this site is that you can select which set you'd like to practice.

This week we started working on our Rube Goldberg machines for our "Simple Machines" unit. Students planned and began construction. Next week we will be putting on the final touches and begin connecting the machines together!

- Bring in cardboard, boxes, tubes, tape, extra glue etc for our Rube Goldberg machine for Science. We are building it this week!!!
*SCHOOL CLOTHING ORDER is due November 14th if you're interested. Come try your tshirt/sweetshirt before you buy! Nov 8 @3:30-5:30 or Nov 9 @6:30-7:30*
*Wed, Nov 8th @9:15 is our Remembrance Day Ceremony. As of this moment the gym is still under construction and thus we are going to have to stuff our entire school in the cafeteria. Please keep this in mind as there may not be room for parents (priority will be given to veterans, ceremony participants, staff and students).

Apparently a picture worthy week! A new Math game called Snap 10, people Math equations, Science scooter experiment, skating and painting. I guess learning can be fun! Oh! And who can forget our favourite Grade 9 Bring Your Kid to Work student, Mr. Shawn!
