Throughout the day, spend some time on Squiggle Park, Zorbits, EPIC, and Splashlearn.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone got to take in some Remembrance Day ceremonies yesterday or took a moment of silence to think about our veterans who fought for our freedom! I appreciate all the work everyone is doing again this week. I hope you all have a great weekend! I miss everyone and hope to see you again soon!

Literacy block:

Writing- If you picked up a home packet, you can complete the Remembrance Day packet! Please remember to keep everything you’ve done and return to school when we get back!

Choose 2 or 3 activities from the choice board that is attached to the document.

Spelling- Finish up Unit 6 of spelling- have someone at home ask you your words.

Numeracy:

  • Zorbits/Splashlearn – play for about 20 mins: https://play.zorbitsmath.com/  www.splashlearn.com
  • In your home packets work on the addition worksheets, or on a piece of paper, work on addition to 20.
  • Practice counting by 2’s starting at 6 and stopping at 20. Count by 10’s starting at 12 and finish at 102. Can you write down the numbers as you count?
  • Try counting backwards by 1 from 50. For a challenge start at 100
  • Play Addition War – Use a deck of cards, but take out the J, Q and K. Divide the rest of the deck in 2 piles. You get one pile and someone else gets the other. You each flip 2 cards and add them together. The person with the highest number gets to keep all the cards. If there is a tie, flip one card and the person with the highest keeps the cards. Play until someone has all the cards. Have fun!
  • Play crazy 8’s, go fish, 7up, or a game of your choice with someone at home!

Good Wednesday morning boys and girls! Hope everyone enjoyed some outside time yesterday, with another beautiful sunny day! Today looks like a bit of rain but get outside when you can!

Writing- If you picked up a home packet, please continue to work on the Remembrance Day packet. In the poem “In Flanders Fields” can you highlight the words – the, we, on, with, are.

In the poem “Little Poppy” and “See the Poppies” can you highlight the words – as, so, this, see

 A few read alouds’ to listen to today, and a powerful strong to listen to as well.

**Tomorrow, November 11th is a Holiday! Please take a moment of Silence in the honour of our veterans.

Go for a walk downtown Chatham or Newcastle and look at lamp post decorations in honour of our veterans. Are any of them your relatives? Do you recognize any names? Walk over to Elm Park (near the Library in Chatham). Look at the display in Remembrance of our veterans. Take a moment to think about what it would have been like.

Good morning boys and girls!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful! Be sure to get out there again today and take in some fresh air! We are thankful for this weather!

Literacy block:

Journal writing- Write about your weekend! What did you do? Who did you see? Make sure to add detail to your writing! Include a detailed drawing to go with your writing. Please, keep your writing pieces, date them, and put them in your homework folder or email me your writing!

Today when you read a book/or listen to a book, I want you to divide a piece of paper into 3 sections. On the paper use the headings Beginning, Middle, End. Write, in complete sentences what happened at the beginning of the book, the middle and at the end of the book. Write down what your favourite part of the book was.

  •          Number of the day today is 35. On a piece of paper, write the number, tell me if it’s odd or even, show it using tally marks, how many tens/ones are in 35, forward/backward counting by 1’s and 10’s starting at 35, what is 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, 10 less, 100 more.
  •          When you are outside today, gather rocks or leaves or sticks and make a repeating AB pattern (rock, stick, rock stick etc.) Can you make a ABBA pattern? (Rock, leaf, leaf, rock, etc.)

Good morning boys and girls!! First, I just want to say thank you to those that have sent pictures or videos, I am enjoying seeing all the great work everyone is doing!
