Hi folks!

A Field Trip memo went home today about our trip to Hay Island on Friday, June 16th. Please return the bottom half of the page and money in the coming days. We had planned a walk tomorrow to the library and another to the police station on Friday but it looks like rain may prevent our adventures. It's 98% likely we will have to reschedule for next week. There are a lot of activities planned for the end of the year. I plan to send home a calendar on Monday with dates etc.

We will be doing a rock project on Thursday. Students are asked to bring in a rock to paint. Not too big or too small please! I have a few extra but not enough for the entire class.

The cafeteria's special meal forms and money are due on Tuesday, June 13th. The meal will be on Wednesday, June 21st.

Lastly, our class is working towards a pj day (they love their pjs!), stuffie, movie afternoon! A little reward to help with the end of year push to stay motivated.

Our reminders:

WED: recorder, possible library card

THURS: gym clothes, a rock to paint

FRI: gym clothes, possible walking shoes

Don't forget to check out our class page with photos and videos of what we've been up to! Mme. Robichaud | King Street Elementary (nbed.nb.ca)

Grade 3: Math Bar graphs and then geometry shapes etc, writing about careers

Grade 4: Math graphing and pictographs and the 3d geometry etc, writing about rocks and minerals.

Any library books from the Chatham Public Library are due on May 31st. If you'd like to send them in to me, I don't mind dropping them off.

Hi folks!

KSE drama students and choir members have been working hard to present BEAUTY AND THE BEST! The whole school will see the performance next week during the school day. Evening performances will be on Thursday, June 1st and Friday, June 2nd and tickets are required. A memo has already gone home with choir and drama members about this. Now, non-drama and non-choir students will have the chance to reserve tickets for the evening performance (if they want to see it a second time, or family members would like to attend).

It's sure to be a hit!

As always, any questions reach out.

Hi folks!

A long one today for such a short week.....

Report Cards & Parent Teacher - Report cards went home today. Please sign and return the necessary page. Parent-Teacher times for those that returned their page are written in your child's agenda, as well as a slip in the report card folder. There's a book order in there too. If you order online the code is RC198054.

New Units - We are beginning new writing units. Grade 3 will be focusing on healthy choices. Grade 4 will have an introduction and the human body (different body systems and body changes/puberty). In Math Grade 3 students will begin calendars and time. Grade 4 students are finishing up decimal numbers and then will move to calendars and time including the 24 hour clock and time duration.

Smoothie Challenge - if any family decides to try one of the smoothie recipes sent home today, please forward a picture for 5 points for the class!

Pictures - Please check out our class website for some fun pictures. Mme. Robichaud | King Street Elementary (nbed.nb.ca)

Speaking French - as we near the end of the year, expectations for speaking French are 100% of class time. If your child looses all their "batons", you will be notified. If it happens a second time, they loose recess minutes. 3x and more, they go to learning lunch. Hopefully it won't come to that!

Outside attire - The playground is soaking wet with melting snow. I'd suggest splash pants and rubber boots but we all know how kids are. I try my best to have them dressed properly as I would my own. With that being said, I strongly suggest extra socks and a change in clothes to be kept in their bookbag. Thanks in advance!

Regular reminders -

TUES: recorder

WED: recorder

THURS: gym clothes

FRIDAY: No school

Hi folks!

We will be staying put at the school this week with no field trips! It's been a while since that's happened. Keep having your child read at home each night for homework.

Here are your (and my) reminders for the week.

DAILY - Proper winter attire for playing in the snow such as snow pants, hats, mitts, boots and jacket. Students get outside as much as possible and it's much more enjoyable when they are dressed properly.

MON - School Spirit Day (KSE colours), need gym clothes

TUES - Career Day (come as what you want to be when you grow up), need their recorder

WED - Hat Day (wear a funny or favourite hat), need their recorder

THURS - Disney Day (wear disney clothing or dress as your favourite disney character), need gym clothes

FRI - Pajama Day (wear your PJs), need gym clothes

*Reminder that March Break is March 6-10th.* Many parents are worried about their children loosing progress over the March Break (or even if being absent for many days due to illness). Online platforms such as Lalilo and Splash Learn are still available during the break if you want some "good" screen time or keeping up with their skills.

All for now!
